I’ll be honest, I haven’t listened or watched any of the CW upfront interviews and I’m kind of glad I didn’t - the gifsets and quotes were more than enough! But something I am picking up, is that the party line seems to be inferring that the klaroline shippers are something separate and different to their ‘real’ audience and that we’re somehow thwarting the ratings by secret ninja means…

I’m not saying that shippers can’t be overzealous (because I’d be lying) but, just as the posters on the klaroline dash only represent a tiny amount of its readers, the crazy contingent in this fandom (the ones, for instance,  who send of nasty PMs to real people) are only a miniscule element of the larger klaroline fandom - and they know that.

Which is why, when we find ourselves reading these comments, we get a little cranky, and it create an ‘us’ versus ‘them’ atmosphere that is more than a bit fucked up. Who wants to watch a show that mocks your interest in their plot and charaacters? Nobody does.

I know, as a viewer, that nobody owes me anything  - but I also know that it’s weird for a showrunner to play the ‘poor me, it’s all your fault’ card if their show didn’t receive the positive reception they’d hoped for. It didn’t get a positive reception because, to be brutally honest, it was a bit crap. End of debate.

And to say that we didn’t like the new spin off just because of the demise of a popular ongoing storyline with a popular character which was then swapped out with a storyline with an unpopular character and a magic!baby plot…

Well, no shit, Sherlock. What the hell did they think was going to happen? And how the hell is it our fault?

I love the klaroline fandom, I really do, but sometimes I wince when I scroll down the dashboard. Today is one of those days.

I don’t usually talk about the actors on a show, just their characters, but the idea that Joseph Morgan should have hidden his relationship with Persia White at the CW upfronts for fear of offending the fans is dodgy at best and speaks of major boundary issues.

The truth is, this poor guy probably had to keep his relationship officially underwraps for  at least a year because some idiot in a CW marketing office told him that it might be detrimental to the show’s ratings. Can you imagine going home to your partner and telling them that? And, forgive me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it also his birthday? Perhaps he just wanted to spend it with a loved one.

So do us all a favour, don’t give that marketing idiot any credence and try to keep the crazy to a minimum.

LMAO at that 1st comment…Cause if CW thought that TO being attached to Supernatural was gonna get them more viewers they made a sad..VERY SAD mistake…Notice what that person said. Supernatural fans only acknowledge Supernatural as the only thing existing on CW….XD

Exactly!…XD They think since Plec is saying TO is more adult that it would attract the more grown up audience from Spn…XD Instead they FAILED!.

It is also a BAD juxtapostion. They should have kept it with TVD. Supernatural is WAY more advanced dialogue wise, storywise, sfx and other stuff…TVD is cheap…putting it against spn is only gonna hightlight all its imperfections even more. If it was with TVD no one wil notice cause its the same universe…BUT I think they split em up cause they dont want it dragging TVD down. Just in case it sucks, it can easily be cancelled and forgotten. If its connected to TVD its harder to disconnect it from the show.

Also, let it also be pointed out that, despite all that talk about TO being ‘darker’ and more ‘adult’, they still gave it an 8pm slot, which means it was all bullshit.
